When the world was very big and you were small, when you did not know the "rights" from "wrongs" you did everything in your power to avoid the pain of some situations. Since you were very young you have been developing many mechanisms to keep bad feelings in check. Often there was no caring or able adult to help you ; sometimes it was your caregiver who caused your pain. You helped yourself sometimes by erasing the pain from your memory, pushing it out of your mind. But the subconscious remembered, your body remembered. you developed anxiety. Anxiety affects the young and the old. you are used to it. you respond with it to many situations. Anxiety is very widespread.

Consciously or not you often choose not to face your demons. you say "time will heal", "no use dwelling on the past", "it is not that bad that I need help". Yet what you resist - persists. you spend a lot of energy to keep the "old stuff" from surfacing. You may smoke, drink, take drugs, perhaps bite your nails, eat too much, repeat unhealthy relationships. You may become unable to stand up for yourself or you get angry at your loved ones, women drivers or dogs. You may become withdrawn or driven. Maybe you accept a lesser success or lose balance between work and family. You may repeat and reinforce negative patterns. Sometimes you become ill.
Sometimes you think the struggle makes up a colorful life! Sometimes it takes over. Eventuall your system may run out of energy. Become disrupted so much that you can no longer ignore it.
Would it not be great to truly lessen the burden by dealing with negative emotions once and for all? Remove anxiety from the occasions when you are meant to relax: like playing golf, flying for holidays, writing exams or having sex? Would you not like to get bad memories to weigh nothing?! Rewrite the script, so that instead of a horror or psychological thriller, you view your life as light modern classic or a good comedy! Would it not be great to hear yourself tell your life stories without an uncomfortable emotional "zzzt"?!
